Most electric scooters you can buy are consumer machines: one owner, one commute, one set of habits. Ours are shared-mobility models — the hardware that scooter-sharing operators put on the street, designed from the frame up for a different rider every half hour and for being outdoors all day.
That difference is less about top speed than about what does not go wrong. A rental scooter has to start every time, survive being dropped, and not develop a flat tyre in the middle of the promenade.
OKAI builds the ES700 on what it calls an “industrial-grade, robust Q500 steel frame which is twice as durable as traditional frames”, with a coating it says makes it “more resistant to dust and erosion”.
Solid tyres front and rear — “wider tread, thicker rubber and deeper grooves”, in OKAI’s words. Nothing to puncture, which is why a rental scooter does not get a flat halfway down the promenade.
OKAI calls it a “modularization and easy-maintenance design”, with a repair compartment built into the handlebar. That is the difference between a scooter off the road for a week and one back on the stand the same day.
A “front dual hydraulic suspension system”, which is what takes the sting out of the slab joins and kerb ramps along the seafront.
The engineering claims above are the manufacturer's, published by OKAI about the model we run. The maintenance and charging are ours.

More power, more range
Faster and smoother. For riders who want the quicker one.

The one we hand most people. It gets up to speed gently, which is exactly what you want the first time you stand on a scooter, and it is perfectly happy cruising the flat seafront walkways all evening. If you have never ridden before, start here.
We do not advertise a model for the Basic, so there is no manufacturer spec sheet for us to quote. If the numbers matter to you, ride the Premium — or ask us and we will tell you what is on the stand.
Rent or buy
If you ride every day to work, buy one. For everything else, this is the comparison that matters.
| Renting from us | A personal scooter | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it is built for | Shared-mobility models, designed for many different riders a day. | A consumer scooter built around one owner and one commute. |
| Maintenance | Checked by us before it goes out, and serviced when it needs it. | Whatever the owner remembered to do last. |
| Charging | Charged between rentals, so it leaves the stand with range on it. | Your problem, every night. |
| What it costs you | From $10 per 30 minutes, paid at pickup. | Hundreds of dollars up front, plus storage and repairs. |
| If something goes wrong | Ride back to the stand and we sort it out. | You find a repair shop. |
Why us
Shared-mobility machines built for daily service. We check them before they go out and charge them between rentals.
From 109+ ratings, left by riders rather than by us.
No app, no account, no deposit. Walk up to the stand and ride, or message us first if you would rather.
Cash or Whish. You pay when you collect the scooter, and that is the whole transaction.
BIEL Waterfront, Beirut Souks and Centreville — the car-free paving and the seafront, not a backstreet pickup point.
The waterfront runs to midnight, which is when Beirut is best on two wheels.
Where to find us: every spot. What to do once you have one: explore Beirut.
Tell us which one you want and when, and we will tell you what is on the stand. Or skip it and just turn up — that works too.
